Geof Wood is Emeritus Professor of International Development at the University of Bath, UK. He is a social scientist. He specialises in political economy through the analysis of deep structures. He was an advisor to the Socio-Economic Security Programme of the ILO, a member of the World Bank Social Development Indicators Group, Founder Director of the Institute for International Policy Analysis and Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Bath. He has been associated with Bangladesh’s government civil society since 1974 through interdisciplinary research and policy advice. He is co-editor of the books Aiding Resilience Among Extreme Poor in Bangladesh and Politics and Governance in Bangladesh. He pursued his doctoral studies at the University of Bath.
